STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (April 14, 2025) – The Stonehill College softball team dropped its series finale against Wagner in a Northeast Conference matchup at the Wagner Softball Field, 8-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After the Skyhawks went down 1-2-3 in the top of the first, Wagner rattled off three singles to drive in the first run of the game. The Seahawks scored four more runs in the bottom of the first with two more singles, a double, and a pair of walks in the inning.
Junior
Jessica Brill (Natick, Mass.) got the Skyhawks on the board in the top of the second, lining a single up the middle to drive in senior
Shannon Conte (Amesbury, Mass.). Wagner tacked on a run in the bottom of the second with a sacrifice fly and added another run on a sac fly in the third to take a 7-1 lead.
Another sacrifice fly in the bottom the fourth made the score 8-1 before the Skyhawks added a run in the sixth with an RBI single from redshirt junior
May Dawes (Beacon Falls, Conn.). Conte plated another run in the seventh with a single to right field but the Stonehill rally ended there, falling to the Seahawks, 8-3.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Dawes extended her hit streak to four games as she's tallied a hit in seven of the last nine games,
- Senior Isabella Therrien (Auburn, Mass.) had her six-game hit streak come to an end but extended her on-base streak to seven games with a walk.
- Freshman Melanie Snyder (Howard Beach, N.Y.) went 1-2 at the plate with a single as she's tallied a hit in eight of the last nine games.
- Freshman Grace Conaway (St. Paul Park, Minn.) recorded her seventh multi-hit game of the season, going 2-4 while extending her hit streak to eight games.
- Sophomore Harper Sullivan (Glendale, Ariz.), Brill, and Conte all tallied two hits. Brill, Conte, and Dawes drove in a run each for the Skyhawks.
- Sophomore Alexa Hospodar (Old Bethpage, N.Y.) dropped to 2-7 in the circle, allowing five runs in the first inning while striking out two. Classmate Alex Sciarretto (Bristol, Conn.) pitched two innings in relief, shutting out the Seahawks, allowing one hit and recording three strikeouts.
