WEST WINDSOR, N.J. (April 17, 2025) – The No. 6-seeded Stonehill College men's tennis team dropped its quarterfinal round matchup at the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships to No. 3 LIU, 4-0, at the Mercer Country Tennis Center in West Windsor, New Jersey Thursday morning.
How It Happened
- At No. 1 doubles, junior Leon Harder and senior Philip Hilble edged out senior Jacob Wilhelm Krefting and junior Mark Kröll, 6-4.
- LIU clinched the doubles point at the No. 3 position, where seniors Ales D'Anna and Danila Ishchanka earned a 6-1 win over sophomore Jacob Borch-Nielsen and senior Guillaume Duhil de Bénazé.
- At No. 2 singles, Hilble secured his individual double win on the day with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Borch-Nielsen.
- Ishchanka earned the third match point for the Sharks at No. 4 singles after defeating freshman Nicolas Arredondo, 6-2, 6-0.
- D'Anna won the overall match, 4-0, for LIU with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Kröll at No. 5 singles.
- Despite their unfinished match, sophomore Alexis Chastang earned the lone set victory, 6-4, for the Skyhawks at No. 6 singles against junior Lucas Hornung.
