WEST WINDSOR, N.J. (April 17, 2025) – The No. 3-seeded Stonehill College women's tennis team fell in the quarterfinal round of the Northeast Conference Championships to No. 6 Wagner, 4-1, at the Mercer County Tennis Center on Thursday.
 
Highlights

• Wagner edged out the Skyhawks in doubles, winning two of the three matchups, including the first and third courts.
• The duo of sophomores Alice Brito do Rio (Angra do Heroismo, Portugal) and Madison Warren (Frederick, Md.) won on the No. 2 doubles court, shutting out Victoria Madail Perez and Dariana Vera, 6-0.
• The freshmen pairing of Arya Chabria (Columbus, Ohio) and Lilah Shallcross (Prospect, Ky.) was defeated in a close match on the second court, 6-4.
• After dropping their doubles matchup as the No. 1 pairing, junior Anneliese Beltran (Mexico City, Mexico) and sophomore Julie Holte (Oslo, Norway) also fell in singles, with Holte falling on the first court and Beltran being bested on the third court.
• Holte won the first set of her matchup with Liepa Sataite, but Sataite secured the point for the Seahawks, winning the next two sets, 6-0, 6-3.
• Shallcross fell in a pair of close sets in the No. 2 spot, 6-4, 6-4, to Victoria Madail Perez.
• Beltran dropped her matchup to Daniela Hernandez, 6-1, 6-3 on the No. 3 court.
• Warren was the lone Skyhawk to win in singles on Thursday, defeating Paula Ysabelle Uy on the fourth court, 6-3, 6-3 to complete an undefeated afternoon.
• Chabria and Brito do Rio had their matches on the fifth and sixth courts go unfinished with Chabria tied 1-1 in a third set tiebreaker, trailing 4-1, and Brito do Rio leading in the second set, 5-4, after dropping her first set, 6-3.
