EASTON, Mass. (May 6, 2025) – Sophomore
Helen Brodahl (Portland, Ore.) became the first member of the Stonehill women's golf program to be named to the All-Northeast Conference First Team, the conference announced on Monday.
In Stonehill's third season of Division I women's golf, Brodahl earns the first All-Conference honor as a member of this year's NEC All-Conference First Team. This marks the first All-Conference honoree since
Sloane Van Zanen, '22, and
Emma Beaulieu, '22 were given NE10 All-Conference honors in 2022.
Brodahl earned the distinction after leading the Skyhawks with a team-best 76.8 strokes per round in the 2024-25 season, the fifth-best mark in the NEC. The Sophomore from Portland, Oregon, notched back-to-back top-ten finishes to end the year, placing fifth at the Rutgers Invitational and sixth at the NEC Championship.
Her sixth-place finish at NEC Championships led Stonehill to a program-best finish in postseason play at the DI level as the Skyhawks came in a tie for fifth place. Her three-round total of +18 included a two-over-par 74 on the final day, the lowest final-round score ever posted by a Stonehill golfer in a conference championship since the program's inception in 2017-18.
Brodahl also became the first Skyhawk to be named NEC Golfer of the Month for her excellent play in October, averaging 76.5 strokes per round over three weekends of action. She scored in the 70s in seven of the eight rounds in October alone.
In the spring, Brodahl set a Stonehill program record when she shot a 70 (-1) at the Rutgers Invitational in Piscataway, N.J., the lowest single-round total by a Skyhawk. Brodahl also assisted in a program record round for the Skyhawks at the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge in Myrtle Beach, S.C., as Stonehill combined for a team score of 303 (+23).
Brodahl was also honored at the 2024-25 Stonehill Athletics Student-Athlete Award Ceremony on April 28 with the Annual Athletic Director Award, presented to individuals whose accomplishments go well beyond a box score and may not fit neatly into a traditional award category.
