BROOKLINE, Mass. – The Stonehill College men's soccer team took an early, 1-0, first half lead against Northeastern on the road on Sunday afternoon, but three unanswered second half goals propelled the Huskies to the 3-1 win.
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Shane Fonseca notched his sixth goal of his collegiate career in the 15th minute to give the Skyhawks a 1-0 lead.
- Fonseca led the Skyhawks with five shots, including two on net, which included also scoring the equalizer in the 61st minute.
- Finn Schueler made his first start in goal on the season and registered four saves for the Skyhawks, while also picking up the second assist on Fonseca's first half goal.
- Sophomore James Forrest-Hay was credited with the first assist on Fonseca's goal.
- Senior Owen Burke followed up firing three shots towards the goal in the contest.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Momentum favored the Skyhawks in the early minutes of the contest. After an offsides call erased a Northeastern goal, the Skyhawks drove down the entirety of Parsons Field to take the 1-0 lead.
