EASTON, Mass. (September 10, 2025) – Stonehill College graduate and men's hockey defenseman Cameron Gaudette ('25) has signed a professional contract with the Rapid City Rush of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).
"Really happy to see Cam sign with Rapid City. Great person, great teammate, and hard worker," said head coach David Berard. "Certainly, a well-deserved opportunity for him. Cam had a great year for us last season. He logged a lot of minutes and played a pivotal role in our improvement as a team. There's no question that Cam will be able to add similar qualities to Rapid City."
Gaudette joined Stonehill after spending his first two collegiate seasons at Northeastern University, where his brother Adam starred and captured the 2018 Hobey Baker Award. While limited to 16 games with the Huskies, Gaudette quickly established himself as a mainstay on the Skyhawks' blue line after arriving in Easton.
Over two seasons with Stonehill, Gaudette appeared in 68 games, recording 10 points (two goals, eight assists) and totaling 76 blocked shots—an average of 1.12 blocks per game.
The ECHL, based in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, is a premier developmental league one tier below the American Hockey League (AHL) and a pipeline to the National Hockey League (NHL). The Rapid City Rush, located in South Dakota, serve as the ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames.
Rapid City competes in the ECHL's Western Conference and is coming off a 2024-25 season in which the team narrowly missed the playoffs, finishing just three points shy with a 31-32-6-3 record. The Rush open the 2025-26 campaign on Friday, October 17, against the Kansas City Mavericks, last year's Western Conference Finals runner-up.
