EASTON, Mass. – The 2025-2026 Senior Reflections is a series of annual collections . Senior representatives of teams at Stonehill have been invited to contribute and reflect on their personal experiences over their four-year careers at Stonehill - both on and off the playing surface.Â
Why Stonehill?
When I first chose Stonehill, I was drawn to the balance it offered between athletics and academics. I wanted a place where I could push myself academically while competing as a Division I athlete, and I was looking for a school with a strong sense of community. Stonehill provided exactly that.
How Has Stonehill Shaped You?
When I first came to Stonehill my identity was almost entirely wrapped up in being a student-athlete I was unsure who I was outside of it. Over the past four years, Stonehill has challenged me to grow beyond that definition and discover more about myself. I've learned to value balance, perspective, and the importance of my relationships. I've learned that I am defined not by what I achieve, but by the kind of friend, teammate, and leader I strive to be.
Best Moments
One of my best athletic moments was being part of Stonehill Field Hockey's first Division I win. Being the first class on an inaugural team was incredibly special and watching Stonehill Athletics grow each year has been something I'll always be proud of. Academically, my most meaningful experience has been with Stonehill's SCIFI group, where we manage the Mary Herlihy Opportunity Fund alongside Professor Mullen. That opportunity taught me so much, and the lessons I've learned from Professor Mullen will be invaluable to my career after graduation.
Lessons Learned
The biggest thing I've learned about myself over these four years is that I am not defined solely by academic or athletic success, but by the kind of friend, teammate, and person I strive to be. I've learned that success is not measured just by GPAs or wins, but by the relationships built and the character brought to every situation. I will carry so much of what I have learned here at Stonehill after graduation, from the technical academic skills that will guide me professionally, to the soft skills of adaptability, communication, and the ability to thrive within a team. I'm so thankful for the journey Stonehill has given me.
