EASTON, Mass. (Sept. 22, 2025) – Charles Battaglia of the Stonehill football team has been honored as the NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Defensive Player of the Week, the NEC announced Monday afternoon.

In Stonehill's 10-3 win over LIU in its NEC opener, Battaglia, a junior linebacker from Massapequa, N.Y., recorded 2.0 sacks to pace the Skyhawks' defense. Battaglia tied for the team lead with nine tackles overall, as Stonehill held LIU to 241 yards on 59 plays. The three points allowed was the fewest ever against a Division I opponent for Stonehill and the fewest overall since 2022.

Through give games, Battaglia has amassed a team-best 33 tackles, in addition to 3.5 tackles for a loss and 2.0 sacks.

Stonehill (2-3, 1-0 NEC) will head to Duquesne (2-3, 0-0 NEC) for an NEC contest in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 12 p.m.
