Kebreau, Aben Record Multi-Point Nights in Loss to No. 19 UMass

AMHERST, Mass. (October 24, 2026) – The Stonehill College men's hockey team fell to nationally ranked No. 19 Massachusetts, 5-3, on Saturday night. With the loss, the Skyhawks dropped to 3-2 overall, while the Minutemen improved to 3-3-1 on the season.

Highlights
How it Happened
Stonehill drew a pair of early penalties and surrendered the game's opening goal at the 3:46 mark, as Jack Galanek scored on the power play for Massachusetts. The Skyhawks responded at 9:04 when Lepper fired a shot from the point that deflected wide of the Minutemen net. Kebreau collected the loose puck and backhanded a shot over the goal line to even the score at one.

Massachusetts regained the lead late in the opening frame, as Francesco Dell'elce scored an unassisted goal at 16:22 to give the Minutemen a 2-1 advantage heading into the first intermission.

The Minutemen extended their lead just 45 seconds into the second period when Václav Nestrašil found the back of the net to make it 3-1. Stonehill answered at 4:23, as Aben redirected a shot home on the power play to pull the Skyhawks within one.

Nestrašil netted his second goal of the period at 7:03 to restore Massachusetts' two-goal cushion. However, Stonehill continued to battle, cutting the deficit to one once again at 18:25. After receiving a no-look pass from Kebreau in the neutral zone, Fitzpatrick dangled past the Minutemen defense and fired a shot into the top shelf for his second career goal, sending the Skyhawks into the second intermission trailing 4-3.

Stonehill generated another power-play opportunity in the third period but was unable to find the equalizer. Galanek sealed the 5-3 Massachusetts victory with an empty-net goal late in regulation.
