WEST HAVEN, Conn. (October 5, 2026) – The Stonehill College women's tennis team competed at the New Haven Invitational over the weekend, matching up against host University of New Haven and non-conference opponent Seton Hall.
Throughout singles and doubles competition, the Skyhawks combined for a 7-6 record, led by freshmen
Carlota Souto and
Neva Matos, who each went 3-1 across singles and doubles play.

Luciana Caputi Intriago opened singles competition with back-to-back victories against New Haven, as Souto defeated Victoria Chioreanu, 6-2, 6-4, while Caputi Intriago topped Hannah Knickerbocker, 6-2, 6-2.

Iliana deArmas fell in their respective singles matches,
Isabel Solazzo and Matos added two more victories for the Skyhawks. Solazzo defeated Fredericka Franco, 6-2, 6-3, while Matos cruised past Victoria Atkinson, 6-1, 6-2.
Stonehill finished doubles competition with a 3-4 record, with Matos and Souto accounting for two of the three Skyhawk victories. The first-year pairing opened with a 6-3 victory over Knickerbocker and Chioreanu before cruising to a 6-1 triumph over Atkinson and Franco later in the day.
deArmas and Solazzo rounded out Stonehill's doubles victories, defeating Knickerbocker and Chioreanu, 6-2.
