Chastang Highlights Effort in Men's Tennis Defeat at Army

WEST POINT, N.Y. (February 1, 2026) – The Stonehill College men's tennis team dropped its weekend finale to Army West Point, 4-0, Sunday morning at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center. With the result, the Skyhawks fell to 2-2 overall, while the Black Knights improved to 4-0 on the season.

Junior Alexis Chastang highlighted Stonehill's effort on the day, teaming with senior Mark Kröll for a 6-5 victory at No. 3 doubles over Marcus Sebastian and Tucker Culpepper. Chastang also led an unfinished match at No. 6 singles against Rudy Mazzola, taking the first set 7-6 and holding a 3-2 advantage in the second.

Despite Chastang and Kröll securing their first win as a doubles pairing, Army claimed the remaining two doubles matches to earn the opening point. Junior Jacob Borch-Nielsen and sophomore Hector Cebrian dropped a tightly contested 7-6 (7-4) decision at No. 1 doubles to Jimin Jung and Matias Feoli, before Jack Hanna and Preston Achter clinched the doubles point with a 7-5 win over sophomore Nicolas Arredondo and freshman Benjamin Beaudry at No. 2.

The Black Knights sealed the overall match victory with wins on the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 4 singles courts. Three singles matches remained unfinished, including Arredondo battling to a 5-5 tie in the second set at No. 5 singles against Culpepper, and Chastang maintaining his second-set lead after capturing the opening set at No. 6.
