EASTON, Mass. (Feb. 11, 2026) – The Stonehill women's lacrosse team fell to intrastate rival Boston University by a score of 21-14 at W.B. Mason Stadium Wednesday afternoon.
The Skyhawks move to 0-1 (0-0 NEC), while the Terriers now stand 2-0 (0-0 Patriot League).
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS:
- Making her career debut, Sophia Gouveia led Stonehill with five points (three goals, two assists) and eight draw controls, while also grabbing two ground balls.
- Jennaveve Koch netted a hat trick, while Meaghan Fealy (two goals, two assists) and Taylor Green (two goals) also scored multiple goals for the Skyhawks.
- In net, Nina Tremonte finished with eight saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
In the first,
Grace Murphy tied the game, 4-4, with a player-up goal at 4:51, but BU scored two more late in the frame to carry a 6-4 lead into the second.
The teams traded goals for much of quarter two, with
Sophia Gouveia getting the Skyhawks within two, 9-7 ,at the 3:14 mark of period. Stonehill knotted the game, 10-10, on Gouveia's third score of the game with 7:41 remaining in the third.
As the game headed to the fourth quarter, BU expanded its lead to 18-11, but Stonehill responded with a 3-0 run, and a shot off the stick of
Jennaveve Koch cut the deficit to 18-14 with 4:50 to play.
Stonehill finished with 18 draw controls, including eight to Gouveia, four to
Maia Parker and three to
Emma Kail, and was 13-of-15 on clear attempts.
