LAKEVILLE, Mass. (March 1, 2026) – The Stonehill College women's tennis team earned a 4-3 victory over Le Moyne College in NEC action Sunday at the Lakeville Athletic Club. With the win, the Skyhawks improved to 2-5 overall and remained unbeaten in conference play at 2-0. The Dolphins fell to 0-7 overall and 0-3 in NEC matches.
Le Moyne opened strong by sweeping all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead. Stonehill responded decisively in singles competition, winning four of the five completed matches.
Lilah Shallcross evened the match at 1-1 with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Stella Simeonova at No. 3 singles. Consecutive wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles by
Julie Holte and
Madison Warren pushed the Skyhawks ahead 3-1.
Alicia Alvarez earned the Dolphins' lone singles victory, defeating
Anneliese Beltran 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles to narrow the gap to 3-2.
The match was clinched at No. 4 singles, where
Arya Chabria rallied past Paula Casares in a three-set battle. After dropping the opening set 6-4, Chabria captured the final two sets by identical 6-4 scores to secure the 4-2 team victory. The win marked her team-leading sixth of the season and gave Stonehill a 2-0 start in NEC play for the second straight year.
