HOW IT HAPPENED
The Skyhawks started the game strong with a pair of singles to lead off the first and second innings, but they were unable to bring them around. Junior southpaw Harper Sullivan made quick work of the Sharks in the bottom of the first, retiring the side in order on five pitches.

However, LIU was able to get to Skyhawks pitching in the home half of the second. Sending 12 batters to plate the Sharks put up seven runs. T

After the Sharks added two more runs in the fourth, the Skyhawks finally broke onto the scoreboard in the top of the fifth. Sophomore Taylor Schoonmaker and freshman Juli Murillo opened the frame with back-to-back singles. Fellow sophomore Sarah Taylor took advantage of the scoring opportunity taking a 1-2 offering into right center to plate Schoonmaker.

Murillo came in to score on a sacrifice fly to center off the bat of Caelen Beatty. It was all the Skyhawks were able to get.
