HOW IT HAPPENED
Senior center
Ethan Meuser opened the game knocking down nine of the Skyhawks first 12 points – all from beyond the arc – to take an eight-point, 12-4 lead. They quick extended the lead to 11 on a driving lay-up by senior guard
Chas Stinson.
The Dolphins were not going away and quietly inched their way back into the game. With six minutes remaining in the first half, they grabbed their first lead of the game, 27-26, on a lay-up by Tennessee Rainwater. It was short-lived as junior guard
Davante Hackett put the Skyhawks back on top knocking down a three and end the half on a 13-5 run to take a 39-32, lead into the break.
Coming out at the start of the second half, the Dolphins closed the deficit to one possession, but Hackett pushed it back to six points draining a three. But Le Moyne was not going away. They came back to tie the game twice midway through the second half and continued to hang around.
Stonehill was able to keep Le Moyne at bay. Hackett capped off a 7-0 run with a dunk to push the lead to eight and the Skyhawks never looked back.
