EASTON, Mass. (April 12, 2026) – The Stonehill softball team took the season series from Saint Francis with a 7-4 victory in the rubber game on Sunday afternoon.
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
- Freshman Meara McDevitt slugged her first collegiate career homerun in the bottom of the fifth inning. McDevitt finished the day going 3-for-4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI.
- Junior Alex Sciarretto earned her third win of the season, tossing five innings while striking out three.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Stonehill's offense came alive early, sparked by a three-run second inning. After senior
Jessica Brill crossed the plate on an error, freshman
Juli Murillo delivered a clutch two-out, two-RBI double to left-center, extending the lead to 3-0.
The Skyhawks added another run in the third when freshman
McKenzie Caron drove home pinch-runner sophomore
Taylor Schoonmaker on ground ball to second. The game stood that way until Saint Francis put up a three spot in the top of the fifth to tie the ballgame.
It was short-lived as Stonehill responded in the home half. Freshman
Meara McDevitt picked the perfect time for her first collegiate career homerun to give the Skyhawks the 5-4 lead.
Brill added a pair of insurance runs, poking a two-RBI double to right center to plate
Grace Conaway and
Harper Sullivan. It was a lead the Skyhawks would not relinquish.
