EASTON, Mass. (April 17, 2026) – The Stonehill softball team dropped game one of the three-day series to Le Moyne, 4-2, on Friday afternoon
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior southpaw Harper Sullivan was solid in the circle tossing a complete game with six strikeouts and only allowing three earned runs.
- Sophomore Sarah Taylor went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
- Sophomore Taylor Schoonmaker went 1-for-3 from the top of the Skyhawks lineup.
- Freshman Mackenzie Caron was 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit double in the seventh.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Skyhawks struck first in the bottom of the second inning taking advantage of defensive miscues by the Dolphins. After junior Haleigh reed led off the inning with walk and freshman
Juliana Alicea kept the inning going with a single, freshman
Meara McDevitt reached on fielder's choice allowing pinch-runner
Grace Conaway came in with the first run to give Stonehill the early lead.
Le Moyne answered in the top of the third and tied the game at one. And that's where it stood as junior southpaw
Harper Sullivan kept Dolphin batters off balance recording six strikeouts.
However, the Dolphins took advantage of a Skyhawk defensive miscue in the top of the six, pushing across three runs to take a 4-1 lead. Sophomore
Sarah Taylor blasted a solo homerun in the bottom of the sixth to cut the lead in the half, but it was not enough.
