WEST WINDSOR, N.J. (April 16, 2026) – The Stonehill College women's tennis season came to a close Thursday morning as the Skyhawks dropped a 4-2 decision to Wagner College in the quarterfinal round of the NEC Tennis Championships at Mercer County Tennis Center.

Stonehill struck first by claiming the doubles point, earning wins on two of the three courts. Julie Holte and Madison Warren secured a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles over Victoria Madail and Dariana Vera. After Wagner evened things up with a win at No. 3 doubles, the deciding match came at No. 2, where Arya Chabria and Lilah Shallcross rallied from an early deficit to defeat Alexia Estrada and Claudia Lindsey, 6-4.

In singles play, Wagner responded by taking four of the five completed matches to clinch the 4-2 victory and advance to the semifinals. Shallcross led the way for the Skyhawks, completing a strong day with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles over Samantha Bentsianov.

Wagner's Liepa Sataite responded with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles over Warren. Both Chabria and Anneliese Beltran pushed their matches to three sets at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively, but came up just short. Beltran fell 6-1, 2-6, 1-6 to Vera, while Chabria dropped a 6-2, 4-6, 3-6 decision to Estrada.

The match ultimately came down to No. 1 singles, where Holte and Madail battled through a three-set thriller. After taking the opening set, Holte was edged in the final two, as Madail secured the 1-6, 7-5, 6-4 win to seal the match for Wagner.
