CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (April 21, 2026) – The Stonehill softball team dropped a midweek non-conference single-game to Harvard, 11-4, on Tuesday afternoon.
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Sarah Taylor went 1-for-3 with a pair of RBI.
- Senior Jessica Brill registered her second homerun of the season a two-run shot in the fourth inning.
- Junior Harper Sullivan recorded her first triple of the season to straight away centerfield in the top of the second.
- Freshman Juli Murillo went 1-for-4 with a run scored
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Skyhawks faced immediate pressure in the bottom of the first inning. Harvard capitalized on early opportunities, including an RBI double and a bases-loaded walk, to jump out to a 4-0 lead.
Stonehill broke through in the top of the third. After
Kaileigh Mares and
Juli Murillo reached on back-to-back base-hits, sophomore
Sarah Taylor blooped a single just in front of the right fielder to cut the Crimson lead in half.
However, Harvard responded and pushed across three runs in the home half of the third to extend their lead to five. The Skyhawks got a pair right back as senior catcher
Jessica Brill slugged her second home run of the season to left center to close the gap to three.
But the Crimson offense was red-hot and answered in the bottom of the fourth scoring another three runs to take a 10-4 lead and never looked back.
