EASTON, Mass. (April 22, 2026) – The Stonehill softball team utilized a pair of three-run innings to overtake UMass Lowell, 5-4, in game two as they split Wednesday afternoon's non-conference doubleheader.
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior Alex Sciarretto earned her fourth win of the season tossing a complete game, while striking out four and walking just one.
- Senior Jessica Brill went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
- Freshman Juli Murillo went 3-for-7 with an RBI and three runs scored.
- Freshman Juliana Alicea went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored in game one.
GAME 2: STONEHILL 6, UMASS LOWELL 4
The Skyhawks found themselves down 2-0 early, but a three-run third inning shifted momentum. Junior
Harper Sullivan cut the deficit in half with base-hit through the left side to plate freshman
Juli Murillo before fellow freshman
Jenny Olson came in to tie the game on error at third. Moments later senior
Jessica Brill came through with a clutch single through the left side to drive in Sullivan and take a 3-2 lead.
Stonehill maintined its momentum in the fourth inning. With runners in scoring position, Murillo drove in
Caelan Beatty with an infield single to increase the lead to two. Sophomore
Taylor Schoonmaker extended the lead to three poking a single down the right field line before coming in to score the sixth Skyhawk run on a single by junior
Haleigh Reed.

Alex Sciarretto earned her fourth win of the season, tossing a complete game, weathering a late inning comeback by the Riverhawks.
GAME 1: UMASS LOWELL 7, STONEHILL 2
The Skyhawks jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Reed drove home Murillo with a first run of the game on a groundout to shortstop.
But the lead was shortlived as UMass Lowel answered with two runs in the second inning and another two in the third to take a 4-1 lead. They never looked back.
