Evan Conti Joins Men's Basketball Coaching Staff

EASTON, Mass. (April 23, 2026) – Stonehill Head Men's Basketball Coach Chris Kraus has announced the hiring of Evan Conti as assistant coach for the upcoming 2026-2027 season.

Conti joins the Skyhawks coaching staff after spending the past five seasons as the associate head coach at Saint Michael's College. In his first three years in Vermont, he increased the wins which included 24 in 2023-2024 – the program's third most in school history. In 2023-2024, the Purple Knights were the NE-10 regular season champions and claimed the top seed in the east region and hosted the NCAA Division II East Regional for the first time in program history.  They advanced to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since 2000-2001.

The Purple Knights earned a trip back to the NE-10 championship title game as well as the NCAA Tournament in 2025-2026. In the tournament against Bentley University, Saint Michael's completed the largest second half comeback, 21 points, to earned them a spot in the Round of 32.

Prior to his time at Saint Michael's, Conti spent a year as the head coach at New York Institute of Technology after serving a year as an assistant. Upon his elevation to head coach, he became the young head coach across all three levels of college basketball in the country, at the time, and guided the Bears to the conference post-season for the first time in five years.

A native of Queens, New York, Conti played high school basketball at Holy Cross High School in Flushing, where he recorded 1,120 points and named to the CHSAA First Team. Additionally, he was named the MVP of the World Maccabiah games for Team USAs 16u in 2009 that won gold. It was his first of two gold medals as he was on the Open team in 2013 that won gold.

Conti went on to have a solid four-year Division I basketball career at Quinnipiac. After his collegiate playing days, he continued to play professionally on the international circuit in Israel.
