HOW IT HAPPENED
Bryant jumped out to an early lead in the first inning, capitalizing on defensive miscues to plate three runs. After the Bulldogs added a run in the top of the third, Stonehill answered back in the bottom half. Freshman
Juli Murillo reached and was driven home by a fielder's choice off the bat of sophomore
Sarah Taylor, cutting the deficit to 4-1.
However, the Bryant offense proved too much to handle. Following a single run in the fourth, the Bulldogs broke the game open with a five-run fifth inning to extend the lead to 10-1
Stonehill looked to rally in the bottom of the fifth as sophomore
Taylor Schoonmaker and pinch-hitter junior
Haleigh Reed both singled to put runners on to open the inning, but were unable to come around to score.
