Lagerbäck Joins Rapid City Rush of ECHL

RAPID CITY, S.D. (April 6, 2026) – Senior forward Teddy Lagerbäck of the Stonehill College men's hockey team has signed a professional contract with the Rapid City Rush, the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Calgary Flames, the organization announced Sunday.

"We're excited that Teddy earned this opportunity with Rapid City," said head coach David Berard. "In his two years at Stonehill, he made a big impact on our program and became a key offensive contributor, scoring big goals in big moments."

"He has strong offensive instincts, a great shot and a nose for the net that makes him a threat every time he steps on the ice," Berard added. "He was also steady and reliable defensively. We look forward to watching him continue his career and fulfill his dream of playing professional hockey."

Lagerbäck was a consistent presence on the forward lines over two seasons with the Skyhawks, appearing in 50 games and totaling 27 points on 10 goals and 17 assists.

The Minnetonka, Minnesota, native highlighted his senior campaign with a three-game stretch in which he recorded six points, including a career-best three-point performance in a comeback overtime win over Alaska Anchorage on Dec. 6, 2025.

In that matchup, Lagerbäck scored twice in the third period to help force overtime before assisting on the game-winning goal, securing him NCAA Division I Independent Player of the Month honors.

He joins a Rapid City squad that has totaled 60 points this season with a 27-34-5-1 record.
