Baseball Falls to Bryant in Midweek Finale

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (May 12, 2026) – The Stonehill College baseball team dropped its final midweek matchup of the season to non-conference opponent Bryant University Tuesday afternoon at Conaty Park. With the result, the Skyhawks fell to 19-27 overall, while the Bulldogs improved to 27-22 on the season.

Highlights
  • Juniors Ryan LeClair and Nathan Kearney extended their on-base streaks to 41 and 38 games, respectively.
  • LeClair also stole his team-leading 10th base of the season.
  • Freshman Tyler Redden paced the Skyhawks offensively, finishing 1-for-2 with an RBI.
  • Junior John Bureau reached base for the 12th straight game and scored Stonehill's lone run of the afternoon.
  • Senior Jake Lanzer matched the game-high with three strikeouts over 1.1 scoreless innings of relief.

How It Happened
After a scoreless opening inning, Stonehill broke through first in the top of the second. Bureau led off the frame with a full-count walk before advancing to third on a Kacin Robinson single and a groundout from Brayden Rader.

With Bureau 90 feet away, Redden lined an RBI single down the left field line to plate the game's opening run and give the Skyhawks a 1-0 lead.

Despite the early advantage, momentum quickly shifted in favor of Bryant University. The Bulldogs' pitching staff limited Stonehill to just one hit over the final five innings, while Bryant's offense erupted for 11 unanswered runs to secure the 11-1 run-rule victory in seven innings.
