MILL SPRING, N.C. (May 4, 2026) – First-year
Cora Cotman of the Stonehill College equestrian team represented the Skyhawks on the national stage at the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) National Championships, held at Tryon International.
Competing against the nation's top riders in the prestigious Cacchione Cup, Cotman continued a strong tradition for the program. Stonehill has now had a rider qualify for the Cacchione Cup in three consecutive years, as
Madeline Ahern '25 represented the Skyhawks at each of the previous two IHSA National Championships.
Cotman competed in both over fences and flat equitation on Saturday, May 2. She posted a score of 82.5 in over fences, placing her in a tie for 10th among the 24 riders competing for the Cacchione Cup. Following her flat phase, Cotman secured a spot among the top 13 riders, concluding her season with an impressive top-13 finish overall.
Her performance marks the highest finish for a Skyhawk in the event since Emily Dolan '13 placed seventh in the USEF/Cacchione Cup competition at the 2013 IHSA National Championships.
