EASTON, Mass. (Aug. 29, 2026) – The Stonehill football team opened its 2026 season by falling at home to Bryant by a score of 24-6 before 2,826 fans Saturday evening at W.B. Mason Stadium.

STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS:
- Caden Henritzy made seven tackles in the first half and paced the team with nine stops in the game. Christopher Gill recorded one sack for a nine-yard loss.

- Alijah Turner amassed 160 all-purpose yards (109 kick return, 42 receiving, nine punt return) becoming the first Stonehill player with more than 150 all-purpose yards since Brigham Dunphy (151) vs Duquesne (Oct. 26, 2024).

- Jack O'Connell was 19-of-30 for 202 yards in the game, giving him 2,757 passing yards for his career.

- Cole Clarke caught five passes for 35 yards, while Shane Eason carried the ball nine times for 50 yards.

- Domenic Scalese hit two field goals (36 and 29 yards).

- Stonehill held Bryant to 299 yards of offense on 65 plays and posted 5.0 tackles for a loss.

- Eli Gardner, The Paul Finn '71 Head Football Coach is now tied with Robert Talley (2007-15) for the most games coached in program history with 94.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Bryant struck first on a 10-yard TD rush by OJ Ross at the 1:04 mark of the first quarter. In the second, Stonehill got on the scoreboard when
Domenic Scalese converted a 29-yard field goal at 10:11 to bring the Skyhawks within four, 7-3.
In the second half, Jordan Bennett added a rushing score for Bryant, as the Bulldogs extended its lead to 14-3 with 14:16 remaining in the fourth quarter. Later in the frame, Bryant made it 21-3 after Brennan Myer ran for a two-yard TD.
With 5:33 to go, Scalese drilled his second field goal of the game, this time hitting a 36-yarder to make it 21-6. At 1:45 remaining, Nicholas Stoyanovich made a 27-yard field goal for Bryant, 24-6.
