EASTON, MASS. (Sept. 25, 2026) – The Stonehill field hockey team dropped its NEC matchup with Sacred Heart, dropping the decision, 2-1 following a 4-2 shootout, at W.B. Mason Friday afternoon.
The loss drops the Skyhawks to 1-6 (1-1 NEC), while the Pioneers go to 2-6 (1-1 NEC).
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS:
- Isabelle Morton recorded 12 saves in goal, giving her 76 stops for the season.
- Havana De Roeck netted her second goal of the fall, and she now leads the team with six points.
- Teagan O'Donnell collected an assist, as she now has five points.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
In the first quarter, Sacred Heart struck first with a goal by Erin Lynch with an assist by Hailey Vogt at the 6:09 mark.
The contest remained tied until the third stanza when
Havana De Roeck fired a shot into the back of the net off a pass from
Teagan O'Donnell at 36:39.
After the regulation ended with the game knotted, 1-1, the teams played a scoreless overtime before moving to a shootout. O'Donnell and
Jill Miller converted their chances for the Skyhawks, but the Pioneers scored four times in the shootout to clinch the contest in the shootout, 4-2.
