ORONO, Maine (Sept. 4, 2026) – The Stonehill field hockey team fell on the road to Maine by a score of 4-0 at the UMaine Field Hockey Complex Friday afternoon.
The Skyhawks move to 0-2 on the year, while the Black Bears go to 1-2.
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS:
- Isabelle Morton made 11 saves in net for Stonehill, including six in the second half.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
In a scoreless first half, Stonehill goalkeeper
Isabelle Morton recorded five saves, as the Skyhawks withstood an early surge from the Black Bears.
Maine took a 1-0 lead off a shot from a rebound by Nicole Kowalewski at the 32:32 mark of the third quarter. The Black Bears upped their advantage to 2-0 with a goal by Martha Barratt off assists by Emily Chisholm and Eloise Penty at 47:24. In the final minutes, Maine tacked on two goals by Saylor Kuefler (53:57 and 56:26).
