Biography

2015: ABCA/Rawlings All-East Region second team & NCBWA All-East Region second team selection. NE-10 All-Conference first team honoree. NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll fall semester. One of three players to start in all 50 games during his junior campaign. Led the team with a .341 batting average to go with eight doubles, one triple and 25 RBI. Also scored 45 runs, stole 36 bases in 40 attempts and drew 15 walks. Reached base safely in 46 out of 50 games. Posted 26 multi-hit games. Opened the season on a six-game hitting streak and stole a base in eight straight games to start the year. Went 3-for-6 with a homerun, a stolen base, two runs and two RBI in a win over Molloy (2/21). Combined for five hits, four runs, three RBI and three stolen bases in the next two games, both wins over Nyack (2/21) and Chestnut Hill (2/22). Recorded a season-high nine-game hitting streak from 3/7-3/13. Went a combined 15-for-37 with eight runs, four RBI and 10 stolen bases over his nine-game hitting streak. Registered a perfect 3-for-3 to go with a walk and a RBI in a loss at Franklin Pierce (4/4). Was a catalyst in the Skyhawks seven game win streak from 4/12-4/19. Recorded a hit in every game and had five multi-hit games over that stretch. Finishing the steak going 14-for-33 with eight runs, four RBI and five stolen bases. Went 3-for-5 with three RBI and a stolen base in a win at Saint Michael's (4/25). The very next day in a doubleheader sweep over the Purple Knights, he went 5-for-9 with six runs, a RBI and three stolen bases (4/26). Knocked in two RBI and scored two runs with a double, a walk and a stolen base in a win over Assumption (4/28). Went 3-for-6 with two runs and a stolen base in the NE-10 semifinal win over Adelphi (5/8). In the NE-10 Championship game loss to Franklin Pierce, he went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs (5/9). Closed out his junior season hitting a single, drawing a walk and stealing a base in a loss to Saint Thomas Aquinas in the NCAA East Regional (5/16).

2014: One of four Skyhawks to start in all 50 games during his sophomore season. Hit .289 (3rd on the team), going 58-for-201 with 12 doubles, two triples, and 14 RBI. Also scored 38 runs, stole 23 bases in 27 opportunities, and drew nine walks. Posted 18 multi-hit games, including two straight to open the season against Felician (2/20) and Caldwell (2/21). Registered a season-best eight-game hitting streak from 4/17-4/27. Also hit safely in seven straight games from 3/13-3/23, including consecutive 2-for-3 efforts with two runs against St. Thomas Aquinas (3/13) and Mercy (3/14). Posted a .952 fielding percentage, making nine errors in 186 total chances. Had a season-high two RBI on three occasions, including in Stonehill's 8-7 Senior Day victory over Merrimack (5/3). Went 2-for-2 with a walk, a double, and two RBI in an 8-2 win over American International (3/20). Had a season-high three hits (3-for-4) in a 2-1 loss against Pace (4/6).

2013: NE-10 All-Rookie Team. Started 36 of the 41 games he played for Stonehill during his freshman season. Hit .255 (38-for-149) with three doubles, two triples, one home run, 15 RBI, 16 runs, 11 walks, and seven stolen bases. Scored at least one run in 13 games and registered multiple hits in 12 games on the year. Posted a .947 fielding percentage, making nine errors in 170 total chances. Scored his first career run during Stonehill’s 2-1 opening day win over LIU Post (2/21/13). Roped his first career hit, a single, in Stonehill’s 2-1 loss to West Virginia Wesleyan College (2/22/13). Reached base four times on two singles and two walks during a 4-3 victory over Molloy College (3/23/13). Posted a .500 batting average (7-for-14) with one double, one home run, three walks, and three runs during a five game hitting streak from March 5 – March 9. Singled, doubled, and scored a run in a 7-2 loss to Rollins College (3/7/13). Posted a ninth inning, game-tying, inside-the-park home run during Stonehill’s 3-2, 12-inning win over the University of Bridgeport (3/9/13). Collected at least one RBI in four straight games from March 15 – March 24. Went 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI, and one run during a 6-5 triumph over Pace University (3/16/13). Singled twice, scored one run, and drove in one RBI during the Skyhawks’ 12-10 loss to the University of New Haven (3/24/13). Hit a game-tying RBI-double in the ninth inning during the Skyhawks’ 4-3, 15-inning win over the Bentley University Falcons (3/27/13). Singled home the game-winning run in Stonehill’s 3-2 win over nationally-ranked Southern New Hampshire University (5/30/13). Reached base safely via walk or hit in 10 straight games from April 13 – April 27, hitting .357 (15-for-42) with one triple, four RBI, six runs, four walks, and three stolen bases during that stretch. Went 3-for-5 with RBIs in back-to-back wins against Saint Michael’s College and UMass Lowell (4/14/13 & 4/16/13). Singled and scored a run during the Skyhawks 2-0 win over Saint Anselm College (4/27/13). Hoyt Named to NE-10 All-Rookie Team.

High School: 2012 graduate of Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, Mass. Three year starter on baseball team. Helped Xaverian reach the state championship in sophomore and senior seasons. Division I state champion and team captain during senior year. Earned Catholic Conference All-Star honors (twice), ESPN All-State First Team (Mass.), Herald All-Scholastic team, Herald Dream-Team honors during his senior season.

Personal: Born December 12, 1993 in Norwood, Mass. Son of Russ and Maria Hoyt. Has an older brother Russel (23). Majoring in Economics with a minor in Healthcare Administration. Lists Boston Red Sox as his favorite team and Andrew McCutchen as his favorite athlete.
