Kevin Higgins

  • Title
    Assistant Coach

Higgins brings a wealth of professional playing experience and a deep passion for player development to the Stonehill College baseball program. A former standout infielder for the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League, Higgins made his mark with his strong defensive skills, competitive drive, and leadership both on and off the field.

Before joining the Ducks, Higgins excelled at the collegiate level, where he was recognized for his consistency at the plate and his ability to command the infield. He was also a 2 time captain while at st bonaventure. His professional career with the Ducks provided him the opportunity to compete alongside and against top-tier talent, further refining his understanding of the game’s physical and mental demands. Prior to joining the ducks, he spent 2 seasons in the pioneer league, with northern Colorado owls, where he led the team in hits in their inaugural season. His experience of 5 years at the professional level along with his college experience in the Atlantic 10 league, make him a valuable asset in both coaching and encouraging young men to pursue their athletic goals.

As a coach, Higgins emphasizes fundamentals, preparation, and accountability—values that mirror his own playing career. His coaching philosophy focuses on developing complete student-athletes who excel not only in baseball but also in the classroom and community.

At Stonehill, Higgins works closely with infielders and hitters, helping guide the program’s continued growth and success within Division I competition.
