Stonehill College

2012: Went 4-2overall in nine appearances, eight starts, for the Skyhawks with a4.17 earned run average. Recored one complete game and one shutoutin 49.2 innings pitched. Allowed 43 hits, 26 runs (23 earend), 24walks and fanned a team-high 53 battes. Held opponents to a .239batting average. Also made four appearances as a hitter with twostarts at first base and one in center field. Hit .273 (3-for-11)with two runs scored, one double and two runs batted in. Heldright-handed batters to a .218 batting average. Averaged 9.60strikeouts per game over nine innings pitched. Compiled a 11.05groundouts per game ratio to a 4.53 flyouts per game ratio. BlankedAssumption College on April 4 allowing just one hit, two walks anda season-high 11 strikeouts in a 2-0 win over the Greyhounds.Fanned at least one batter in every inning but the fourth andstruck out the side once (third inning). Backed up that performancewith eight more strikeouts versus Southern New Hampshire University(April 14). Was victorious in his last start of the season goingsix innings, yielding five hits, two runs (both earned), two walksand five strikeouts versus Merrimack College in game one of adoubleheader on May 5. Struck out at least one batter in everyappearance on the season. Posted five or more strikeouts in six outof his nine appearances. Stonehill went 6-3 overall in games heappeared in.

2011: NE-10Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll. Ranked third on theteam in batting average at .283. Notched six doubles, ateam-leading four triples and 17 runs batted in. Posted a .980fielding percentage with 94 putouts, four assists and two errors.Reached base at a .342 clip as a leadoff hitter in an inning(14-for-37). Went 1-for-1 in pinch hitting duties on the season.Had a .500 batting average (7-for-14) with a runner on third baseand less than two outs. Collected four games with three hits going3-for-5 with two runs scored and one run batted in againstMerrimack on March 27, a 3-for-4 game versus Merrimack on March 29,a 3-for-5 showing with two runs batted in against Bentley (4/7) andanother three-hit game versus Assumption (4/9). Knocked in aseason-high three runs against the College of Saint Rose (5/6) togo along with one double and one home run in the contest. Posted aseason high 10 putouts versus Franklin Pierce University (5/11)with one assist. Put together an eight-game hitting streak fromMarch 14 to March 23 compiling 11 hits, five runs and three runsbatted in during that span. Also had two extra base hits and onestolen base during the eight-game hittingstreak. 

2010: Did notcompete.

2009: Had threeappearances for the Skyhawks. Went 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA. Had onesave and six strikeouts over 4 innings of work.

High School: 2008graduate of Masconomet Regional High School. Letterwinner forbaseball. Cape Ann League All-Star. Salem New All-Star. Team MVP.Agganis Games member. Went 7-1 on the mound as a senior .

Personal: Born onApril 18, 1990 in Concord, Mass. Son of David and Karla Shepard ofBoxford, Mass. Has four siblings, Brendan (22), Colin (18),Jacqueline (16) and Michelle (9). Brother Brendan was drafted bythe Boston Red Sox in 2011 MLB Draft in the 28th round with the862nd pick overall. Brendan was also a member of the Stonehillbaseball team.  Kevin Shepard played baseball at BostonCollege and for the Philadelphia Phillies. Father, David, playedbasketball at Bentley College. Undecided major at the college.Lists Gordon Beckham as favorite athlete.
