Israel Abraham Bio Primary Recruiting Areas: Massachusetts (South Shore,Central & Western Mass.)

Israel Abraham isentering his third season as assistant coach with the Stonehillfootball program. He will take over as special teams coordinatorfor the Skyhawks in 2014, while continuing as position coach forthe running backs for the third-straight year.

Stonehill posted its best season innearly 20 years in 2013 as it finished with its first winningseason since 1996 and earned a share of the Northeast-10 Conferenceregular season championship. The Skyhawks played in its first NE-10Championship game, gaining over 1,300 yards on the ground in 2012with two running backs going over 500 yards and averaging more thanfour yards per carry. The Skyhawks averaged over 119 yards rushingper game and produced 12 touchdowns from the rushing attack.Sophomore running back Colin Markus finished the year ranked fifthin the NE-10 for yards per game (7.1) and fourth with 5.4 yards percarry.

Stonehill showed good depth at therunning back position in his first season in 2012 with a pair of400-yard rushers as the Skyhawks averaged 101.6 yards per game onthe ground while throwing the ball 36 times per game.

Abraham joined the coaching staffat Stonehill following a four year career as a student-athlete atEndicott College in Beverly, Mass. He played two seasons atcornerback before switching to fullback for his final two seasonsas the Gulls captured the New England Football ConferenceChampionship in 2010 to earn the program's first NCAA Tournamentbid and then won the ECAC North Bowl in 2011.

While completing his undergraduatedegree, Abraham completed an internship in the Boston Celticscommunity relations office. He has worked as a counselor at theYMCA in Stoughton, Mass., and got an introduction to coaching in2008 with the Canton High School varsity football summer league.Abraham was also assistant basketball coach at Canton High inJanuary 2010.

Abraham, a native of Canton, Mass.,earned his Bachelor's Degree in liberal studies at Endicott in2012.
