Garry Hebert

Garry Hebert enters his fourthseason as head men's ice hockey coach. During the past threeseasons, Stonehill has advanced to the conference semifinals eachseason, making an appearance in the title game in 2008-09.Previously, Hebert spent two years as associate coach, helping leadthe Skyhawks to their first Northeast-10 Conference championship inthe 2006-07 season.

In Hebert's first season at thehelm, Stonehill finished 12-11-2 for a third-place finish in theNE-10. Three players were named to the All-Conference squad,including Mike Manna, who was named the conference's Goaltender andCo-Freshman of the Year. The Skyhawks followed with a 10-13-1season in 2008-09, and advanced to the conference championship gameafter postseason victories over Franklin Pierce and SaintAnselm.

Most recently, the 2009-10 Skyhawksfinished 10-16-1 overall, ending the season in the NE-10semifinals. Senior captain Peter Roundy was named to theAll-Conference team, and freshman Dana Borges and Chris Gorovitzearned All-Rookie honors.

Hebert, who brings over 30 years ofexperience in hockey, has served as a consultant to NHL and Olympicathletes as the owner of the World Academy of Hockey. He coached atEssex High School, leading the team to multiple state championshiptitles and a national top-ten ranking, and earned a Coach of theYear award. Hebert played Division I college hockey at theUniversity of Vermont.

Hebert and his wife Michele residein Rockland, Mass. Their two sons, Derek (class of 2008) and Tyler(2011), are both Stonehill student-athletes, Derek in track &field and Tyler in soccer.
