CHICAGO, Ill. (October 26, 2024) – The Stonehill College volleyball team dropped a three-set match at the Jacoby Dickens Center against Chicago State in a Northeast Conference contest Saturday afternoon.

Highlights
- Senior Emma Graves (Vestal, N.Y.) notched a team-high seven kills and had her first game with zero attack errors this season, recording a hit percentage of .412. Graves also tallied two digs and two assists.
- Junior Mia Berardino (Rowley, Mass.) and freshman Paloma Gonzalez Jaramillo (Wylie, Texas) each had six kills with Gonzalez Jaramillo notching a team and career-high .500 attack percentage.
- Senior Leah Michalowski (Holden, Mass.) scored 6.5 points on five kills with a Skyhawk-best three block assists.
- Senior Isabella Arcidiacono (Wilbraham, Mass.) led Stonehill with a career-best 12 assists, adding two digs as well.
- Karly Klaer led the Cougars, scoring 14 points on 11 kills, two block assists, and an ace.
- Chicago State sits atop the NEC standings, improving to 8-0 in conference play.
SET 1 | Chicago State led the entire first set and ran away with the opening frame early, going ahead 11-3. The Cougars continued to score in bunches, going on a 7-0 run to take a 19-6 lead, eventually winning the first set, 25-13.
SET 2 | There were five lead changes early in the second frame, with Gonzalez Jaramillo's kill giving Stonehill a 10-9 advantage. Chicago State scored the next three points, igniting a 9-3 run as the Cougars built a six-point lead, 18-12. CSU led the rest of the way, taking a 2-0 match lead, 25-18.
SET 3 | The third set began with the two teams going back and forth, but the Cougars rattled off a 4-1 run to take a 9-5 lead. Chicago State began to build on its advantage, increasing the lead to six points, 15-9. The Cougars went up by as much as seven, 19-12, but the Skyhawks began to rally, scoring eight of the next 11 points, trimming their deficit to just two, 22-20. Chicago State scored the final three points of the match, winning 3-0 for the second night in a row.
