NEC Spring Academic Honor Roll Release

EASTON, Mass. (June 25, 2024) – Stonehill College had 114 student-athletes be named to the Northeast Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll. A student-athlete must post at least a 3.20 grade-point average to be eligible for the NEC Academic Honor Roll. 30 of the 114 Skyhawk student-athletes boasted a 3.75 grade-point average or better to be named to the NEC Spring Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.
The NEC celebrated 1,408 student-athletes who made up the NEC Spring Academic Honor Roll and 527 of the 1,408 student-athletes were distinguished on the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Graduate student Conor Kiely (Portsmouth, R.I.), coming off his fourth College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team, finished with an impressive 3.9 graduate GPA while also excelling in the field, registering a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with 83 putouts and a career-high three assists. At the dish, Kiely also ranked in the top five on the squad with a .296 batting average, 60 hits, 41 runs, and five stolen bases.
Freshman Helen Brodahl (Portland, Ore.) represented the women's golf team on the Commissioner's Honor Roll, earning a 3.84 GPA in her first year at Stonehill. On the course, she earned the first-ever NEC Golfer of the Week accolade for the Skyhawks program and led the team this season with an average score of 81 strokes per round.
After leading the women's lacrosse team with 84 points on 56 goals and 28 assists to earn NEC Offensive Player of the Year, senior Molly Mae Hughes (Franklin Square, N.Y.) picked up another distinction as she earned a spot on the NEC Academic Honor Roll to cap off an incredible year on the field and in the classroom.
Junior Isabella Therrien (Auburn, Mass.) notched the top GPA on the softball team with a 3.84 as a neuroscience major while leading the NEC this season in runners caught stealing from behind the plate, throwing out 15 base runners to go along with two home runs and 11 runs batted in.
Notching a 4.0 GPA in the spring was freshman computer science major Alexis Chastang (Faversham, England) who also had a strong first season on the court for the men's tennis team, notching six wins in singles play, third-most on the team, and four wins in doubles.
Earning her second consecutive NEC Spring Academic Honor Roll nod was senior Lindsay Macdonald (South Yarmouth, Mass.) of the women's tennis team who was also named NEC Team Scholar-Athlete of the Year after scoring a perfect 4.0 GPA for her entire undergraduate career. Macdonald marks the first Skyhawk to win the prestigious award of NEC Team Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Senior Kaytlin Encarnacao (Reading, Mass.) was recently named to the NEC All-Conference Second Team after her performance in the 400-meter dash at outdoor track and field championships. Along with an outstanding outdoor season on the track, she finished the spring semester with a 3.81 GPA to earn a spot on the NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Senior distance runner Aidan Byrne (Danbury, Conn.) earned a 3.89 GPA in the spring to lead the men's track and field team, earning himself the NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll nod. Byrne set a personal record in the 1,500-meter race at NEC outdoor championships, finishing the race in 4:01.92.
