Stonehill Sees 92 Student-Athletes Named to NEC Winter Academic Honor Roll

EASTON, Mass. (June 10, 2024) – Stonehill College saw 92 student-athletes be named to the Northeast Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll. A student-athlete must post at least a 3.20 grade-point average to be eligible for the NEC Academic Honor Roll. In addition, 31 Skyhawk student-athletes boasted a 3.75 grade-point average or better to be named to the NEC Winter Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.

811 student-athletes made up the NEC Winter Academic Honor Roll across 11 member institutions with a 3.20 or better grade point average. There were 309 student-athletes named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll with a 3.75 or better grade point average, the fourth-highest total in league history.

Freshman Chayil Mauristhene (Milton, Mass.) of the women's basketball team had the top GPA out of the 98 Skyhawks named to the honor roll, earning a perfect 4.0 to claim a spot on the commissioner's honor roll.

Senior Sydney Stockwell (Hopkinton, N.H.) was one of 11 members of the swimming team to be named to the honor roll while also making the commissioner's list with a 3.90 GPA before capping off her senior year by qualifying for three different finals at NEC Championships.

Graduate student Max Zegarowski (South Hamilton, Mass.) was a leader for the men's basketball team on the court and in the classroom, posting a 3.71 GPA while leading the Skyhawks with averages of 12.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 34.7 minutes per game.

Women's indoor track and field sprinter, senior Kaytlin Encarnacao (Reading, Mass.), made the All-NEC First Team in the indoor 400-meter dash and 4x400-meter relay race while posting a 3.80 GPA to earn a spot on the commissioner's honor roll.

Notching the highest GPA on the men's indoor track and field team in the winter was fifth-year distance runner Reilly Johnston (Providence, R.I.) who finished with a 3.95, setting personal records in the indoor mile (4:28.10) and 3000-meter (8:29.86) races. He also placed fifth in the 3000m and third in the Distance Medley Relay at NEC Indoor Championships. 

Junior Henri Schreifels (Newbury Park, Calif.) notched 16 points this winter on eight goals and eight assists for the men's ice hockey team, ranking second on the Skyhawks in scoring while leading the team with a 3.96 GPA to make the commissioner's honor roll.
