EASTON, Mass. (September 24, 2024) – The Stonehill College men's tennis team opened its dual match slate with a 7-0 sweep against Wheaton College at the Charles Watt Tennis Courts Tuesday evening. With the win, the Skyhawks improved to 1-0 on the season, while the Lyons dropped to 0-1 to start the year.

How It Happened
- Borch-Nielsen and Arredondo earned their third victory of the season as a double pairing at the No. 1 position against sophomore Jaime Galligo and sophomore Jake Murray, 6-0.
- Bennaton and Gutierrez followed at the No. 3 slot of doubles play with a 6-1 win over sophomore Calvin Van Dyke and senior Daniel Bor.
- Kröll and Wilhelm Krefting secured the doubles sweep for the Skyhawks in the No. 2 position, battling sophomore Paul Berteaux and sophomore Jack Thain to a 6-4 decision to earn their team-leading fourth win of the season as a double's combination.
- Borch-Nielsen took down Galligo, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 1 singles to earn his double win on the day, while Wilhelm Krefting defeated Murray, 6-2, 6-1, at the No. 3 slot.
- Bennaton, Arredondo, and Gutierrez rounded out their first double-win days with victories at the No. 2, 4, and 5 positions in singles competition.
- Kröll capped off the 7-0 sweep for the Skyhawks with a straight set, 6-0, 6-0, win over freshman Daniel Kofman at No. 6 singles.
