CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (September 4, 2024) – Stonehill College got a pair of goals from sophomore
Tyra Stark to spark a four-goal run and secure a 4-2 triumph over Central Michigan University in a non-conference field hockey matchup at Berylson Family Field Hockey Field at Harvard University tonight.

- Stark led Stonehill with a pair of goals, while freshman Emma McGrory collected the first two points of her collegiate career with a goal and assist.

How It Happened
- Emrick put Central Michigan in the lead with 3:28 remaining in the opening quarter when she collected a rebound off her own shot and drove the ball into the right side of the cage.
- Stonehill got a quick answer when Stark tipped in her second goal of the season, assisted by McGrory, just 54-seconds later.
- After a scoreless second quarter, Stonehill took command with two third quarter strikes. Strickulis pounced on a rebound in the center of the scoring arc 2:01 into the frame for her first goal of the year, before Stark doubled the Skyhawks lead four minutes later with her second of the night on another rebound.
- McGrory extended the Stonehill cushion to 4-1 with her first collegiate goal with 7:04 left in regulation when she scored off a penalty corner by freshman Tia-May Harlos.
- Central Michigan wrapped up the scoring with a consolation strike by D'Alessandro for her first goal of the year with 4:38 to play but could get no closer.
Noteworthy
- Stark, named a Northeast Conference Prime Performer earlier today, has scored in three-straight games dating back to last fall, having totaled three markers through two games so far this season.
- McGrory and Harlos each collected their first collegiate points tonight, giving Stonehill three freshmen with points after two contests.
- Strickulis scored her eighth career goal with her opening marker of the season. It also marks her third career game-winner, having scored one in each of her three seasons at Stonehill.
- Conte has posted 295 career saves in 36 games played after her season-best four stops tonight.
