  • The Skyhawks recorded 56 shots on goal throughout the midweek contest, the most since January 26, 2018, when Stonehill tallied 62 shots on goal against Post University.
  • Seven different goal scorers fueled the Skyhawks' offensive output, and 14 skaters registered at least one point on the night.

How It Happened
Stonehill wasted no time taking an early lead, as just three minutes into the out-of-division matchup, senior Devlin O'Brien set up Schreifels on his fourth goal of the season off an offensive zone draw.

The Skyhawks doubled their advantage at the 15:08 mark of the first period when freshmen Leo Chambers and Zach Nicolas linked up to find Hastings skating unchallenged through the neutral zone. Hastings then fired a shot through the pads of Saint Anselm's Carroll, securing his first career goal. Stonehill took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission.

The Skyhawks carried their offensive momentum into the second period, outshooting the Hawks 18-3 in the frame and extending their lead. Just 90 seconds into the period, Heath collected a pass from freshman Cole Melady along the boards, then fired a shot from the high slot that slipped past Carroll for his second goal of the season and an active team-leading fifth career point against Saint Anselm.

Less than 30 seconds later, junior Teddy Lagerbäck extended his point streak to three games with a cross-ice assist to Grainda, who scored his third goal of the season to make it 4-0.

Late in the second period, Stonehill drew a penalty and entered the third period with both a four-goal lead and a power-play opportunity. Just 17 seconds into the final frame, while on the power play, Campione snapped an eight-game power-play scoring drought for the Skyhawks. He netted his second goal in as many games and third of the season with a no-look, between-the-legs finish off a redirected one-timer from junior Evan Orr.

Lehtinen and Aben wrapped up the scoring for Stonehill, adding goals at the 8:59 and 14:02 marks of the third period, respectively. Aben's goal extended his point streak to three consecutive games, while Lehtinen's goal marked the first multi-point performance of his collegiate career, sealing the 7-0 victory for the Skyhawks.
