Domenic Scalese of the Stonehill field hockey team has been selected as the NEC/Atlantic Tomorrow's Office Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
Scalese, who hails from Peabody, Mass., connected on field goals from 19, 44 and 26 yards out to help the Skyhawks earn a 22-15 victory at Mercyhurst on Oct. 25. The 44-yard field goal marked the longest for Stonehill this season. Scalese also made an extra point, as he finished the day with 10 points.Â

Jack O'Connell, a native of North Andover, Mass., was tabbed an NEC Prime Performer after going 12-of-19 for 188 yards and two touchdowns through the air and adding 52 yards on 11 carries on the ground. He had TD passes of 23 and 14 yards in the first quarter, and he now ranks 10th in school history with 19 career touchdown passes and 10th with 2,085 career passing yards.
With the victory over the Lakers, the Skyhawks improved to 2-1 in the NEC and 3-5 overall and now sit in third place in the conference standings with four games remaining. Stonehill will host Robert Morris (2-6, 1-2 NEC) at W.B. Mason Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on NEC Front Row and Bridgewater TV Access.
