EASTON, Mass. – The Stonehill women's volleyball (5-22, 4-9 NEC) defeated Chicago State (1-20, 1-10 NEC) in four sets, 3-1, on Friday evening. Senior outside hitter
Mia Berardino led four in double figure kills, tallying 17 on the night.
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
- The Skyhawks hit .358 as a team tallying 59 kills on 120 assists and just 16 errors.
- Freshman Sam Loyd posted a .407 attack percentage with 14 kills on 27 attempts and three errors.
- Juniors Abby Farrell and Sammy Franco rounded out the quartet in double figure kills with 10 each.
- Franco also registered three block assists at the net.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Stonehill found themselves down early, being edged out by Chicago State, 25-23, in the first set. But the Skyhawks were resilient and stormed their way back. Hitting .444 as a team in the second set, they evened the match at 1-1. Junior

Momentum shifted over to the Skyhawk bench as they took a 2-1 match lead, posting a .400 attack percentage to take the third set, 25-12. Senior
Mia Berardino stepped up her game registering a .364 with five kills on 11 attempts and just one error.
They kept the energy flowing into the fourth set where the offense posted a .500 hitting percentage with 15 kills on 24 attempts and three errors to seal the victory.
