EASTON, Mass. – The Stonehill women's volleyball picked up the four set, 3-1, victory over Chicago State on Senior Day, Saturday afternoon.
 
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS

• Junior Abby Farrell tied her career single-game high registering seven aces, while tallying 11 kills.
• Senior Mia Berardino notched a double-double tallying 17 kills and 12 digs.
• Junior Sammy Franco rounded out the trio in double figures with 10 kills.
• Freshman Suzie Ponce anchored the defense with 14 digs.
• Before the game, the Skyhawks recognized seniors Mia Berardino, Alayna Rooney and Kaitlyn Watson for their dedication to the volleyball program.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Chicago State began the day jumping out to a 1-0 match advantage taking the first set, 25-18. The Cougars took an early lead in the second set but the Skyhawks showed resilience, battling back to take a 14-12 lead and force Chicago State to call a time out.
 
Momentum swung over to the Skyhawk bench quickly. Junior Abby Farrell notched a pair of aces in a 4-0 Skyhawk run to take an 18-12 lead and Stonehill never looked back to even the match at 1-1.
 
Hitting .313 in the third second, the Skyhawks fended off a late Cougars rally to take the 2-1 match lead with a 26-24 victory. Stonehill did not look back and kept their foot on the accelerator into the fourth set. Berardino came on strong posting a .429 attack percentage with four kills on seven attempts with just one miscue to take the four set and the match, 25-15.
