EASTON, Mass. – The Stonehill volleyball team suffered a tough, five-set, NEC loss to Central Connecticut State University, in a midweek conference game on Wednesday evening.

STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Skyhawks set the tone early, methodically building a 14-7 lead and they never looked back to take the 1-0 match advantage. Momentum looked to shift at the start of the second set towards Central Connecticut, but Stonehill answered with 6-1 run.

Sophomore Gabi Polishuk capped the run with an ace to take 16-12 lead. While the Blue Devils chipped their way back into the set, tying the set at 17-17, the Skyhawks responded to each point and pulled out the second set, 25-21 to take a two-match lead.

However, Central Connecticut State answered. Hitting over .600 as a team in the third set, the Blue Devils stayed alive with a 25-20 win before taking the fourth set, 25-19 to force a deciding game five. With momentum on their side they pulled out their third conference victory of the season edging out the Skyhawks, 15-9 in the fifth set.
