EASTON, Mass. (Nov. 11, 2025) – The Stonehill women's basketball team had four players score in double figures, as the Skyhawks earned a 65-50 victory over Niagara at Merkert Gymnasium Tuesday afternoon.
With the win, the Stonehill improves to 1-1 (0-0 NEC), while the Purple Eagles slip to 0-2 (0-0 MAAC).
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS:
- Freshman Reese Roggenbuk earned the first double-double of her career, tallying a game-high 19 points and adding 11 rebounds.
- Junior Emma Arcà had her second-straight game with a career-best in points, going 5-of-6 from the field for 11 points.
- Freshman Ella Pelletier and sophomore Julia Webster both scored 10 points, while junior Brooke Paquette assisted on seven buckets. Webster's 10 points and seven rebounds were both career-highs.
- Stonehill's bench outscored Niagara's by a 31-11 margin.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Stonehill came out flying and held a 22-12 advantage through one quarter, holding the Purple Eagles to 23.5 percent shooting in the opening frame. The Skyhawks balanced scoring included going 6-of-11 from the field in the second, as Stonehill grabbed a 37-24 lead at the break.
In the second half, Stonehill, which saw all right of its players score at least one bucket in the game, continued to control the pace, as the Skyhawks led in second chance points, 19-6, and fast break points, 21-10, for the game.
Stonehill also controlled the boards, outrebounding Niagara, 47-31, including 30-16 on the defensive glass.
