Women’s Basketball Pulls Away From Rider, 77-55

EASTON, Mass. (Nov. 13, 2025) – The Stonehill women's basketball team picked up a 77-55 non-conference victory over Rider at Merkert Gymnasium Thursday evening.

With the win, the Skyhawks improve to 2-1 overall (0-0 NEC), while Broncs fall to 1-2 (0-0 MAAC).

STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Junior Brooke Paquette scored 15 points on the second half en route to a 20-point performance. Paquette was 4-of-6 from 3-point range and 6-of-11 overall. Paquette also had six rebounds and dished out five assists.
     
  • Freshmen Reese Roggenburk (10 points, nine rebounds) and Ella Pelettier (11 points) also scored in double figures, while sophomore Julia Webster (13 points, seven rebounds) and junior Breana Delaney (11 points) gave Stonehill five players with 10 or more points on the night. Pelletier and Webster's points scored were both career-bests.
     
  • Junior Bella Mallory hauled in a career-high nine rebounds.
     
  • Stonehill outscored Rider by a 43-21 margin in the second half.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Rider opened with a 15-12 advantage through one quarter, as the Broncs held the Skyhawks to 36.4 percent shooting in the opening frame. After Rider went up by six for its biggest lead of the night early in the second quarter, Stonehill chipped away and tied the game, 34-34, at the break.

In the second half, Stonehill utilized the 3-pointer to begin to pull away, hitting six treys in the final 20 minutes. In the final quarter, the Skyhawks were 8-of-16 from the floor (.500) and held the Broncs to 2-of-13 (.154), as Stonehill outscored Rider, 25-9, in the final 10 minutes.


The Skyhawks owned advantages in second-chance points, 15-3, fast-break points, 14-2, and rebounding, 47-31. Stonehill also took care of the basketball, turning the ball over only 11 times.
