PRINCETON, N.J. (November 15, 2025) – The Stonehill College men's hockey team came up short on the road Saturday night, falling 3-2 to Princeton at Hobey Baker Memorial Rink in Princeton, New Jersey. With the result, the Skyhawks moved to 1-11 overall, while the Tigers improved to 3-2 on the young season.
Highlights
How It Happened
Following a back-and-forth start, Princeton opened the scoring at 12:26 of the first period when Julian Facchinelli netted his first goal of the year. Just 24 seconds later, Stonehill responded as Galante fired a wrist shot over the shoulder of Connor Callaghan for his first goal of the season, pulling the Skyhawks even.
Stonehill came out strong to begin the second period, generating five shot attempts — including three on goal — within the first two minutes of the frame. However, at 2:46, the Tigers reclaimed the lead when Brendan Gorman buried his third goal of the season. A late tally at 17:26 off the stick of Luc Pelletier extended Princeton's advantage, sending the Skyhawks into the second intermission trailing 3-1.
Stonehill struck early in the third, as Grainda pounced on a loose puck in front and dragged it across the goal line just 1:27 into the period to cut the deficit to one. Despite outshooting Princeton 10-8 in the final frame and pulling the goalie late in regulation, the Skyhawks couldn't find the equalizer, falling 3-2.
