EASTON, Mass. (Nov. 26, 2025) – The Stonehill men's basketball team fell to UMass Lowell, 75-64, in a non-conference match the day before Thanksgiving.
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior Davante Hackett eclipsed his single-game high with five threes as he led all scorers with 15 points off the bench.
- Senior guard Rex Sunderland added 13 points while pulling down eight rebounds.
- Sophomore guard Hermann Koffi also dropped 15 of his points in the second half.
- Sophomore Pearse McGuinn rounded out the quartet in double digits with 11.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Riverhawks opened the game with a 5-0 to take the early lead, however the Skyhawks responded with nine unanswered points to take the 9-5 lead. Senior guard
Chas Stinson capped off the run picking off Shawn Simmons' inbound pass and laying it back up for the quick two.
It was a tight, back-and-forth contest until the late minutes of the first half when UMass Lowell went on their own 11-3 run to enter halftime with a 34-23 lead.
The Skyhawks closed the gap two within two possessions a handful of times in the second. Junior guard
Davante Hackett knocked down a pair of crucial three-pointers in the second half that pulled the Skyhawks back to within two points. But the Riverhawks were able to answer at their end of the floor and maintain their advantage.
