WASHINGTON, D.C. (Nov. 6, 2025) – The Stonehill women's basketball team dropped its season opener at Georgetown, as the Hoyas took a 90-45 victory over the Skyhawks at McDonough Arena Thursday evening.
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS:
- Junior Emma Arcà scored a career-high 10 points, connecting on 4-of-8 shots from the field, including 2-of-4 from beyond the arc.
- Making her collegiate debut, freshman Reese Roggenburk tallied 11 points to go along with nine rebounds in 24 minutes. Roggenburk shot 5-of-7 from the floor.
- Fellow freshman Ella Pelletier added seven points.
- Junior Brooke Mallory dished out a career-high four assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Georgetown took advantage of some early shooting, going 5-of-9 from the field, in the opening minutes to take a 12-4 lead. Stonehill freshmen
Ella Pelletier and
Reese Roggenburk going into the scoring act, hitting 4 of the Skyhawks' first six buckets, but the Hoyas led, 28-16, after one quarter.
Roggenburk went 4-of-6 from the floor and led Stonehill with nine points and five rebounds at the half.
In the second half,
Emma Arcà netted eight of her 10 points for the game, going 3-of-4 from the field and hitting both of her 3s.
Stonehill grabbed 31 rebounds in the game, but was held to 18-of-48 shooting (.375) overall and 5-of-16 (.313) from long distance.

Stonehill (0-1, 0-0 NEC) will return home for the first of back-to-back games at Merkert Gymnasium, as the Skyhawks will host Niagara (0-0, 0-0 MAAC) on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m.
