CHICAGO, Ill. (Nov. 7, 2025) – Sophomore
Hermann Koffi knocked down a career single -game high 27 points as the Stonehill men's basketball team was clipped by DePaul, 72-64, on Friday evening.
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Hermann Koffi came one three-pointer away of tying the WinTrust Arena record for three-pointers in a game, draining seven.
- Koffi finished the game netting a career single-game high 27 points.
- Graduate student Raymond Espinal-Guzman pulled down 10 rebounds, while netting nine points and dishing out seven assists.
- Senior Chas Stinson was five-of-seven from the field tallying 14 points of the bench.
- The Skyhawks outscored the Blue Demons in the second half, 40-35.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Blue Demons were firing on all cylinders out of gate jumping out to a 9-0 lead before junior
Davante Hackett put the Skyhawks on the board with a step back jumper. DePaul controlled the majority of the first half, taking a 30-5 lead. But Stonehill did not back down.
Senior
William Batchelder ignited a 14-2 run lasting over four minutes as Stonehill began to settle into a groove. During the run, sophomore
Hermann Koffi knocked down three treys to pull the Skyhawks to within 13 points, going into half time break.
The Skyhawks' momentum carried into the second half. Koffi opened the second knocking down his fifth three-pointer of the game. While the Blue Demons were clinging to the lead, the Skyhawks were methodically chipping into it.
Graduate student
Raymond Espinal-Guzman pulled Stonehill to within three points, before Koffi tied up the game with nine minutes remaining on the clock. A minute later, senior
Chas Stinson knocked down one-of-two from the charity stripe to give the Skyhawks their first lead of the night.
It was a brand new ballgame. However, DePaul was able to re-gain the lead a minute later and hung on to earn their second win of the season.
