Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Tutic Records Second Straight Double-Double in his Return to New Hampshire; Skyhawks Edged by Wildcats, 59-58

DURHAM, N.H. (Dec. 17, 2025) – The Stonehill men's basketball team was clipped by New Hampshire, 59-58, in a midweek contest on Wednesday evening.

STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
  • Junior center Ridvan Tutic recorded his second straight double-double of the season, netting a single-game high 21 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.
  • Sophomore guard Hermann Koffi reached double figures with 10 points and was a perfect seven-for-seven from the charity stripe.
  • Senior guard Chas Stinson added to his block total with a pair of blocks while also finishing the game with eight points.
  • The Skyhawks were nearly perfect from the free throw line, knocking down 15-of-18.
HOW IT HAPPENED
It was a tight from the opening tip, but the energy favored the Skyhawks early. Senior guard Chas Stinson turned a back court turnover into a quick two points early to take an 8-6 lead. Momentum stayed with Stonehill, as junior center Ridvan Tutic made a statement in his return to the school where he started his college career.

Midway through the first half, Tutic extended the Skyhawk lead to four cleaning up under the basket for the easy lay-in to take a 15-11 lead. However, the Wildcats responded with an 8-0 run to go ahead 19-15. Senior guard Rex Sunderland broke up the string of unanswered points going coast-to-coast to make it a one-possession game, 19-17.

UNH had an offensive surge late to take a 36-32 lead into the locker room. They continued to build upon that lead in to the second half, extending their advantage to six, but the Skyhawks were pesky and would not go away.

Held scoreless without a field goal throughout the first half, sophomore guard Hermann Koffi drained his first field goal of the game with nine minutes remaining in the contest. Momentum appeared to have shift over to the Skyhawks when Sunderland gave Stonehill the 56-54 lead with just over a minute to play, but UNH knocked down five-of-six from the free throw line to  grab their fourth win of the season.
